Studio Ceramica – Terms & Conditions

1. Overview & Acceptance of Terms

By attending Studio Ceramica, participating in classes, workshops, private events, or using our website and services (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms of Service”). If you do not agree, you should not use our Services. Studio Ceramica reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Eligibility

Participants under eighteen (18) years of age require parental or guardian consent and may require supervision. Participants under sixteen (16) must register alongside a parent or guardian.

3. Minimum Attendance Requirement

All classes and workshops require a minimum of four (4) registered participants to proceed. If the minimum enrollment is not met, Studio Ceramica reserves the right to cancel the class. Participants will be notified at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance and offered the option to rebook into a future class or receive studio credit. Refunds are not provided.

4. Studio Environment & Conduct

To maintain a calm, focused, and respectful atmosphere, all participants must keep noise levels low and behave considerately. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Participants must follow all instructions provided by studio staff and adhere to all safety guidelines.

The use of alcohol or drugs during studio activities is strictly prohibited unless explicitly permitted during designated events. Studio Ceramica reserves the right to remove any participant whose conduct is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate, without refund or credit.

5. Late Arrival Policy

The studio opens fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled start of class. Participants are strongly encouraged to arrive early. Late arrivals may not be permitted to join once instruction has begun, as this disrupts the learning environment and may compromise safety. Missed instruction due to late arrival is the participant’s responsibility. No refunds, credits, or rescheduling will be provided for late arrivals.

6. Bookings, Cancellations & Transfers

6.1 Classes & Workshops

All bookings are strictly non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you must provide at least seven (7) days’ notice to reschedule or transfer your spot to another participant, with advance notice to the studio. While we understand that family and personal emergencies may arise, no exceptions can be made.

6.2 Private & Special Events

Private events are booked on a case-by-case basis and are subject to studio and staff availability. A non-refundable deposit of fifty percent (50%) of the total fee is required at the time of booking to secure the date. The remaining balance is due upon arrival at the studio prior to the start of the event.

7. Materials & Equipment

Only studio-provided clay may be used to protect kiln integrity and maintain quality standards. Unlimited clay is provided for registered participants; unused clay must remain in the studio. Tools and equipment must be used properly and solely for their intended purpose. Any damage, malfunction, or safety hazard must be reported immediately to staff.

Personal property brought into the studio is the participant’s responsibility. Studio Ceramica is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.

8. Labeling & Organization

All works must be clearly labeled using the post-it notes provided by the studio. Proper labeling ensures organization, safe storage, and accurate identification for firing and pickup. Unlabeled or improperly labeled items may be discarded.

9. Breakage & Outcome Disclaimer

Pottery is a combination of art and science. Breakage, warping, cracking, or glaze irregularities may occur during drying and firing. While every piece is handled with care, Studio Ceramica cannot guarantee the survival or final appearance of any piece.

Glaze results, surface finishes, and final outcomes are not guaranteed to match examples, samples, or expectations. No refunds, credits, or remakes will be issued for breakage or aesthetic outcomes.

10. Photography & Media Policy

Studio Ceramica may take photographs or videos during classes and events for marketing, promotional, or documentation purposes. Identifiable personal information will not be used without consent. Participants wishing to opt out of photography or videography must notify staff in advance.

11. Health, Safety & Assumption of Risk

Participation in studio activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to exposure to dust, chemicals, sharp tools, rotating equipment, hot surfaces, and heavy objects. By participating, you voluntarily assume all such risks and acknowledge that injuries, accidents, or property damage may occur.

Participants must notify studio staff of any relevant medical conditions, injuries, or allergies prior to participation. Kilns and restricted equipment must not be operated without explicit staff consent and supervision.

12. Liability, Waiver & Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants release and hold harmless Studio Ceramica, its owners, employees, contractors, and volunteers from any and all claims, damages, injuries, or losses arising from participation in studio activities, except where prohibited by law.

Participants agree to indemnify and defend Studio Ceramica against any claims arising from their actions, negligence, or violation of these Terms. All participants and guests are required to sign a waiver upon arrival acknowledging understanding and acceptance of these Terms.

13. Pick-Up of Finished Work

Studio Ceramica will notify participants when fired pieces are ready for pickup. Finished work must be collected within one (1) month of notification. Items not collected within this timeframe may be discarded due to space and safety constraints.

14. Force Majeure

Studio Ceramica is not liable for cancellations, interruptions, or delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to power outages, extreme weather, building access restrictions, government orders, or instructor illness. In such cases, participants will be offered the option to rebook or receive studio credit. Refunds are not provided.

15. Intellectual Property

All Studio Ceramica branding, content, designs, and materials are owned by or licensed to Studio Ceramica and may not be reproduced without written permission. By submitting feedback, ideas, images, or testimonials, you grant Studio Ceramica a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such materials for promotional or operational purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
