Toronto's Dreamiest Pottery Studio

I’m a beginner - Where do I start?

Studio Ceramica offers 2 pathways to students seeking to begin their pottery journey.

This is your introduction to the world of wheel throwing. Over the course of this 2 ½ hour session, our instructors guide you through the fundamentals of working with clay on the wheel. You'll learn to center, pull, and shape, transforming a simple ball of clay into something entirely your own. Bring a date, bring your friends, or come just for you and try something new.

This is for anyone ready to go past a first spin. Across four weekly sessions, you'll build real skills at the wheel, from centering and pulling your first cylinders to trimming and glazing finished pieces. Each class picks up where the last one left off, so by the end you're not just trying pottery, you're doing it. Perfect if you want more than just a taste

I have some experience - Where do I fit?

For those who've thrown before, Studio Ceramica offers two ways to keep going.

Some experience already? It'll serve you well here. Across four weekly sessions, you'll refine your centering, stretch your pulls, and take pieces all the way through trimming and glaze. Each class builds on the last, and so does your confidence. Perfect if the wheel has been calling you back.

More time at the wheel. More clay under your hands. More pieces coming home. Across eight weekly sessions, you'll push into new territory, explore closed forms, lidded vessels, work that goes taller and wider than you thought you could throw. This is the next step for anyone serious about the wheel, and the results will show it.

“You can't buy happiness, but you can buy clay, and that's basically the same thing.”
