2 week introduction to pottery

Our 2-Week Introduction to Pottery is a gentle, welcoming entry point into the world of clay, perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to reconnect with the wheel.

In your first class, you’ll learn the foundations: preparing your clay, finding your center, and shaping simple forms on the wheel. It’s a hands-on introduction to the movements, tools, and techniques that anchor wheel throwing. The second class guides you through trimming, refining, and adding details like handles, giving you the chance to shape your pieces with more intention and clarity.

You’ll feel how the clay changes beneath your hands as you learn the movements that guide each form. Each class is guided and supportive, offering space to experiment, ask questions, and discover the tactile experience of working with clay in a calm, design-forward environment.

After your classes, we’ll take care of the finishing process for you. Each piece will be dried, then glazed with a soft, transparent clear glaze that highlights the natural character of the clay. Once glazed, your work will be kiln-fired with care to create durable, functional pieces you can enjoy at home.

Your pottery will be ready for pickup in approximately three weeks.
