4 weeks · four 3-hour classes

Pottery Wheel Classes in Toronto

Our 4-Week Pottery Wheel Foundations course welcomes beginners and returning students alike in our Toronto studio, guiding you through the whole arc of the pottery-making process, from your first time centering clay to a finished body of work you glaze yourself.

Each week builds on the last, so you leave with real skills, not just a few pots.

Week by Week

Week 1: introduces you to the wheel: centering clay and throwing your first forms.
Week 2: brings you back to trim and refine your dried pieces, then throw again.
Week 3: introduces handbuilding techniques and handle-making alongside trimming, expanding what you can build and how you think about form.
Week 4: is glazing, where your pieces find their colour and character. You'll choose from our twelve beautiful studio glazes before your work heads into the kiln.

Our instructors guide you at every step, so you're supported whether it's your first time at the wheel or finding your way back to it.

Good to Know

Our 4-week classes follow a structured, iterative schedule where each session builds on the last.

Please ensure you're able to attend all four sessions before registering.

We provide aprons; just wear something you don't mind getting a little clay on. Once your pieces are fired, we will let you know they are ready to collect.

Our wheel throwing classes are built as a path, and Foundations is the first step. From here, both roads are good ones: take Foundations again and deepen your skills.
